Good Afternoon WCS Parents and Scholars. Please join us this afternoon for the WCS Summer Camp Showcase, featuring Read to Achieve, Summer Bridge, CTE, and AIG Summer Camps. The Showcase will be at Washington County Middle School starting at 6:00 pm. All are welcome!
The Washington County Board of Education meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. located at 509 Adams Street, Plymouth, NC.
We will have closed session in accordance with NC General Statutes 143-318.11(a)(1) To prevent the disclosure of information that is privileged or confidential or not considered a public record under NC General Statute No. 143-318.11(a)(1) pursuant to 115C-319, 115C-402 and 20 US Code 1232g143-318.11(a)(3) in order to confer with the Board Attorney regarding a matter within the attorney/client privilege and to preserve that privilege; and with NC General Statutes 143-318.11(a)(6) in order to discuss one or more personnel matters that are confidential under North Carolina law. The closed session will begin at 4:30 p.m.

Dr. White personally thanked the congregation of Plymouth Church of Christ for their generous donation of school supplies for our Scholars and wishing them a great school year. Youth Minister Aaron Warwick, Tymez and Tahzmir for delivering all of the donations.
AGING RELATED TRAINING - WCHS JROTC Cadets had the opportunity to participate with the Senior Citizens learning about the many stages of eyesight deterioration, arthritis and the muscles. The Cadets and the Seniors both enjoyed the experience.

CARE - Cultivation Awareness and Resilience in Education for Administrators and Principals was a huge success. We learned about startegies to assist us with Social Emotional Learning, centering our energy, minsfulness, awareness and coping with triggers.

AIG CAMP DAY 3 - Scholars were given the challenge to create a Green City using renewable resources for power. They will present projects to parents and friends at Summer Camp Showcase August 3, 2023 at 6:00 pm at WCHS gym. Please come out to support our Scholars' new learning.
WCS Administrative Leadership Retreat was at Vernon James Center. Setting the expectations for this year, Superintendent Dr. David O. White shared vision removing barriers, collaborative decision making and effective utilization of resources. BOE Chair and members were present.
