Congratulations to all 24 of our dual language spelling bee contestants at Creswell Elementary School! Today was a tough competition and many rounds back and forth, but by the end, the judges named a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner for each grade, K - 3. Great job, Tiger Cubs!

Free Money Friday! Here is a $1,000 scholarship opportunity that will be awarded to a graduating senior who is attending college after high school. A short essay and a quick presentation are all that's needed. Good afternoon WCS district,
This is Superintendent Linda Jewell Carr calling with a couple of announcements and updates for the week. Monday March 6 we will begin our Spring Community Meetings. The first meeting will be held in Roper at the PES/WCMS school site. Please join us at 6pm. Featured in this meeting will be the opportunity to learn more and ask questions regarding the new curriculum choices available that WCS will begin using in the fall. This is your opportunity to cast a vote and find out what teachers and administrators have selected.
Thursday March 9 we will host our District Arts Night with ribbons and accolades for all visual arts submitted for judging starting at 4:30pm and performance arts at 6pm with a debut by our middle school and high school band students, our elementary music program and middle school cheerleaders. Please make plans to spend the evening with us
The next two spring community meetings will be held on March 16 at Riverview Café in Plymouth with special programming by Triple P parenting and visitors to share with interested students and community about starting a Rowing Club in Washington County. The last community meeting will be held in Creswell with a special program regarding data from Carolina Demography on March 27.
Staff, students and citizens are welcome to attend all 3 community meetings as each will feature a concentrated area. This is your opportunity to ask questions and learn about exciting opportunities within our school district. I hope to see each and every one of you at one or more of the upcoming events. Monday February 13th, our Mighty Panthers Varsity Girls will play host to the BCHS Falcons at 5:30. The Varsity Boys will play host to the NECP Huskies. Admission is $8, pay at the door.
