Weekly Update 10/2/2022
Due to Hurricane Ian, the deadline for submitting items for the state fair trip has been extended to Tuesday, 10/4/2022. Students planning to attend the trip must turn in 6 cans of food and their permission forms by this date. This is a firm deadline, so ensure everything is in place and on time. The date for the State Fair trip is 10/20/2022
On Wednesday, 10/5/2022, we will have our Math 1 and Biology check-ins. Make sure you get a good night's rest and are on time Wednesday morning for this check-in.
Thursday, 10/6/2022, is the last day of the 1st nine weeks. Parents, please check your student's grades in PowerSchool and make sure there are no zeros. Once the grades are entered, we will not be able to go back in and assign credit for work that was not turned in on time.
The nine-week grades lock in 40 percent of the final grade at the end of the semester, so make sure you get the work turned in.
Friday, 10/7/2022, is a teacher workday, and no high school classes. BCCC students, please note that you have classes this Friday; however, Friday, 10/18/2022, is a faculty workday for BCCC, so you will not have classes on this date. BCCC students should note that the bus will arrive at its regular time on Friday and breakfast will be served.
On October 11th, we will attend the BCCC open house in Beaufort. I strongly encourage students to participate. 9th and 10th-grade students should attend to see the campus and programs they will be a part of soon. 11th-grade students should participate and learn how they could graduate with two college degrees. Seniors should attend to get the FAFSA, financial aid, and scholarship information that BCCC will have available. You can get a permission slip from Ms. Perry, and there is no cost for the trip.
Students should check their email for an earlier announcement about the revised dates for the SGA elections.
I have a meeting with the staff at WCHS to finalize our homecoming plans for this year. We will discuss the details, and I plan to have information about this year's homecoming king and queen tomorrow afternoon.
