Good Evening Students and Parents, This is Principal Peele with this week's announcements. Progress reports will go home with students on Wednesday 11/20. Parents, if you have any questions or concerns about your child's grades, please schedule a conference with the teacher. On Thursday 11/21, please come and join WCES at the local McDonalds for McTeacher Night starting at 5:30pm. The school will receive a small percentage from each purchase from 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm. WCES is scheduled to have our annual McTeacher Night on Thursday, November 21, 2024, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Instead of preparing dinner during this time, please come out to support our fundraiser! National Principals Month is celebrated in October to recognize the leadership and contributions of school principals. Here are some ways to celebrate National Principals Month: Thank you notes-Have students write thank you notes to their principal. Pictures-Create a picture using thumbprints from students, a quote, and student names around the border. Videos-Have students write a script and act it out, or have students, parents, teachers, and other staff record thank you messages for a video contest. Resolutions-Check out the resolutions on the principalsmonth.org website to see if your state officially recognizes National Principals Month. National Principals Month is a time to celebrate the important role principals play in schools, but it's also a time to advocate for them. Principals face challenges and need support, and National Principals Month is a time to urge for policy changes and strategic support.

We need to make sure students have the opportunity to take advantage of every instructional minute each day. Parents, make sure you have accepted the Remind request from your child's teacher. This allows for two-way communication between you and the teacher. Parents, to help prevent injuries, make sure your child does not wear Crocs on days he/she has PE. Today, WCS Board of Ed. dedicated the central office building as the "Julius Walker Jr. Administrative Building"! Mr. Walker was surrounded by friends, family and colleagues as we dedicated the facility with a new sign commemorating the change. Congratulations to Mr. Walker!

In honor of the homecoming parade celebrating both WCHS & WCECHS, all WCS students and staff will be released at 1:00 pm tomorrow, Friday, Oct 18, 2024. All hourly employees who choose to leave early should be sure to get with your supervisors to make arrangements within the current pay period to make up for your missed time.
