Washington County High School Unveils Bold "3E" Plan for Student Success
Enrollment, Enlistment, Employment: The Three Pillars of WCHS
Washington County High School (WCHS) is charting a new logo for student success, firmly anchored in the "3E's" - Enrollment, Enlistment, Employment. Under this ambitious initiative, WCHS aims to equip every student with the tools and opportunities they need to excel in one of these three key areas upon graduation.
A Clear Path to Success
Guided by its mission to provide a personalized learning environment for all students through rigorous instruction, utilization of technology, and high expectations to prepare students to become critical thinkers in a diverse society, WCHS is committed to preparing its students for a bright future.
Enrollment Opportunities
For those students aspiring to pursue higher education, WCHS has partnered with Beaufort County Community College (BCCC) to offer our dual enrollment program. This program, thanks to the College and Career Promise (CCP) enables students to earn college credits, absolutely free of cost, while still at WCHS. In some remarkable cases, students have successfully graduated with both an Associate's Degree from BCCC and their WCHS diploma simultaneously, giving them a significant head start in their academic journey.
Enlistment in the US Military
WCHS recognizes the importance of military service as a noble and viable career path. The school supports and encourages students who choose to enlist in the US Military by providing mentorship and guidance throughout the enlistment process.
Employment Opportunities
WCHS is dedicated to preparing students for the workforce by offering a diverse range of Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways. These hands-on courses allow students to gain practical experience in fields such as Horticulture, Foods and Nutrition, Entrepreneurship, Health Science, Computer Engineering, Career Management, Adobe Suites, Welding, and Early Childhood Education.
Building Leaders with JROTC
Under the visionary leadership of Sergeant Major Arnold and Sergeant James, the WCHS JROTC program plays a pivotal role in shaping the leaders of tomorrow. With a mission to "Motivate Young People to be Better Citizens," the JROTC program instills leadership skills, discipline, and a sense of duty in all participating students. WCHS JROTC students actively engage in school and community events, proudly manage the flag detail, present colors at school and district, and community events, and serve as exemplary models of leadership for their peers.
A Commitment to Every Student's Success
In alignment with its mission and vision, Washington County High School aims to cultivate lifelong learners with the necessary skills and competencies to compete in the 21st-century global workforce. The "3E" plan underscores the school's unwavering commitment to ensuring that every student graduates with a clear vision and the necessary skills to embark on their chosen path. By offering diverse opportunities and robust support systems, WCHS is paving the way for its students to succeed in Enrollment, Enlistment, or Employment, thus preparing them for a brighter future.
Principal Hines expressed his enthusiasm for the 3Es, saying, "Our mission at WCHS is to empower students with the tools they need to excel in life. The '3E' plan aligns perfectly with our vision, and we are excited to see our students thrive as they pursue their dreams."
With this visionary "3E" plan, Washington County High School, under the leadership of Principal Hines, is not just educating students; it's shaping future leaders, innovators, and contributors to society, ensuring that each graduate has a path to success in the "3 E's" of life.
